  At Wheeler Builders, building has always been more than just a job for owner Derek Wheeler — it’s been a lifelong passion.
  From a young age, Derek was drawn to construction and working with his hands. While most kids were asking for toys, he was asking for tools. He bought his first cordless drill at just 14 years old and even asked Santa for a chainsaw when he was younger. That passion for building eventually grew into a career centered around craftsmanship, hard work, and creating homes where families can build lasting memories.
  Today, Derek brings that same excitement and attention to detail into every custom home and spec home Wheeler Builders creates throughout Monroe County, Indiana. He believes a home should be built the right way — with quality craftsmanship, honest communication, and pride in every detail.
One of the most rewarding parts of the job for Derek is seeing homeowners step into the home they’ve always dreamed of and knowing it will become the place where birthdays are celebrated, holidays are shared, and memories are made for years to come.
  As a husband of nearly nine years and a father of three young children ages 1, 3, and 5, family is at the center of everything Derek does. Being a husband and dad has shaped the way he approaches business — treating customers with honesty, respect, and the same care he would want for his own family.
By combining skilled craftsmanship, strong relationships, and a hands-on approach to every project, Derek has built Wheeler Builders into a trusted local contractor known for quality homes and personal service.
